We design intentional spaces—communal containers where movement, story, and ritual transform the social body.
Greater Health Institute is a 501(c)(3) studio facilitating interdisciplinary research
into how ritual and movement reclaim and sustain the collective spirit.
Latricia Wright,
Architect of the Collective
I view the community as a 'social body.' My work is driven by the conviction that true health is not found in the absence of symptoms, but in the presence of connection. Drawing on my expertise in plant medicine and human vitality, I move from the clinical understanding of the individual to the architectural design of the collective. I create 'living laboratories'—spaces where the nervous system is settled, the story is reclaimed, and the social fabric is repaired.
We move through four core disciplines to stabilize and sustain the social body
SOMATIC
Grounding the nervous
system to navigate the
textures of modern life.
NARRATIVE
Reclaiming the "Internal Mic"
to unswallow truths and
author new stories.
RITUAL
Bridging youth and elders to
ensure ancestral wisdom is
lived, not just archived.
RESIDENCIES
Translating our Detroit-born methodology into global
landscapes as field research.
A Lineage of Belonging. In the streets of Detroit, we build the communal glue. We bridge the gap between generations, ensuring that the wisdom of our ancestors sustains the modern social body.
A Universal Requirement. We translate our methodology to diverse landscapes, engaging with local wisdom—from herbalists in Bali to land stewards abroad. These residencies prove that while the geography changes, the fundamental requirement for belonging is universal.
Support the Collective Spirit
Join us in building a new geography of belonging. Your contribution sustains the research, documentation, and communal containers necessary to reclaim our stories. Revenue from our Global residencies (including our upcoming trip to Morocco) and generous donations fund our Sunday dinners and somatic work in Detroit.
